Forgetting what is behind!

Another year is wrapping up and a new one is just around the corner. What's on your mind the most these days? Are you wandering what the new year holds for you? Or are you dwelling on the mistakes of the year?
Like a very amazing writer once said, 'forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize... '
That should be what's up most on our minds. We should be asking ourselves how we can improve, do things better than we did in the year rolling out so we don't live with regrets at the end of 2014.
I am working hard at that, God been my help, I'll be a better me in 2014.

Wishing you all a happy new year, filled with lots of blessings.

Motherhood

MOTHERHOOD
The first day you realize you are pregnant, there’s this unexplainable joy you feel, that as a woman you can carry a human being in your womb. Then other feelings come tumbling down. Will I be a great Mum (or parent)? Will my child develop normally in my womb? Will I be able to provide all this child will need to be well taken care of? And the thoughts could go on and on…
Then after 9 strenuous months you arrive at the delivery room, whether or not you have a long labour, the pain you go through  reveals the real you and out comes your bundle of joy. The thoughts of your capability come again, but hey!  You need to face the reality, your child has come. You call your relatives, friends and well wishers to share your good news. Then the grannies arrive, at best you get one month of their presence but you are grateful because not everyone has this privilege. So in a few days they are with you, you learn the ropes of being a mother. You also work at unlearning things that might not help you to be a great parent. Together with your spouse, you watch this child grow daily, show you who he/she really is, their personality is expressed in their every move. Then you begin to see yourself or your spouse in that God given child and then you wonder how can I best help this child be who he/she is meant to be? So you ask the owner of this beautiful creature for directions to raise him/her; you read to broaden your knowledge base; you ask both young and older mothers what tips work best to help you get through this new phase of life. It’s a road you cannot afford to walk alone; you need all the support you can get.
With prayers, lots of wisdom, discipline, you’ll see your child become all God wants him to be.
